Fremont Police Facility

The design for the new 65,000 sq. ft. facility provides a carefully planned functional environ­ment support­ing Police Department operations and its future ex­pansion. It includes advanced computer and com­munications technology. At the same time, the de­sign supports the human needs of its staff and public users and aims to provide an artistic contribution to the urban de­sign of the Fremont Civic Center.

The facility is structurally enhanced significantly be­yond the requirements of the California Essential Services Act due to its proximity to the Hayward Fault. The building is designed so that each depart­ment can expand independently without disturbing any other department and without increasing the footprint of the building. The structure can accom­modate growth on terraces at each level up to a total building area of 85,000 s.f.
