This project with an area on two levels of 75,000 s.f., incorporates a complete sheriff’s office, 64-bed holding facility, vehicle maintenance building, landscape mainte­nance building, helistop, communications center, microwave facility and EOC. The project included extensive site analysis and on/off site improvements. Design features included drought-tolerant landscaping, natural daylighting of interior spaces and exterior sculpture court which also serves as a vehicle invasion barrier.
