This facility consists of 30,000 s. f.
of remodeled space converting an existing building to the City’s
new police facility containing an emergency operations center,
pre-booking facility, administration, traffic, investigations,
patrol, youth services and physical training. This project
included extensive structural upgrading to meet the requirements
of the California Essential Services Act.
In order to meet current budget restrictions, the City currently
contracts for police services with the County of Ventura;
however, the facility is designed to accommodate a future
communications center and holding facility, when and if the
City elects to provide their own police services.
The facility must be planned in a manner that will allow it
to be converted into future uses with a minimum expense and
down time for on-going operations. Phasing design is the key
to this process. |
