The facility includes Sheriffs’ administration, communications, patrol, detective, training, evidence analysis, and storage; and 46 cell maximum security detention facility for adult male and female inmates with control center, visiting room, medical and recreational spaces. A carefully worked out space program resulted in a unique but economical plan of 6 and 12 person modules, efficiently arranged around a control center for ideal supervision, and minimum manpower requirements. The law enforcement offices total approximately 9,000 s.f. and the detention facility is 12,000 s.f.

The facility contains advanced electronic security, audio visual surveillance and communications systems. Controls for all systems were designed with micro switches and LED’s in an innovative approach to incorporate all switches, alarm indicators and monitors in a compact arrangement on an engraved representation of the floor plan. This system greatly simplifies the operation of the jail, reduces manpower requirements and minimizes chances of error. It was also the first fully integrated graphics control console in the State of California.
