This fire station replaced the former station No. 1 in downtown Oxnard, which was demolished to make way for a new municipal library. The first phase of the development on the 1.48 acre site included a central apparatus bay with natural daylighting, sleeping quarters for both men and women on one side of the station, and living quarters and offices on the other side. A four-story drill tower with demonstration sprinkler systems is part of the phase I construction. |
